We're sorry you're having trouble getting your phone connected abroad. Follow these steps to get your roaming set up:

  1. Check that your data settings are correct using these instructions

  2. Make sure that your data roaming is switched on

  3. If you're outside the UK and EU, make sure that World Travel is switched on (go to Home > Going Abroad > World Travel > Switch World Travel on)

  4. Airports have lots of networks which can confuse your device - once you're clear of the airport, please turn airplane mode on for 5 minutes and restart your phone before testing again

  5. Sometimes when you're abroad, it works to manually select the best network for you. You can change your network using the following steps:

    1. iPhone

      1. Settings App

      2. Mobile Data

      3. Network Selection

      4. Turn off Automatic Selection

      5. Connect to our partner networks for the country, you can check these by clicking here

    2. Android

      1. From the front screen, tap Apps

      2. Choose Settings

      3. Choose Mobile Networks (you may need to click More Networks first)

      4. Choose Network Operators

      5. Turn off Automatic Network Selection

      6. Connect to our partner networks for the country, you can check these by clicking here

  6. Our EU roaming has a fair usage data cap of 20GB in each calendar month. If you're travelling in the EU on our unlimited plan, make sure that you haven't gone over 20GB. You can track your EU data usage in the app by going to Home > Going Abroad > EU roaming.
